Leading up to Remembrance Day, Fairfield House decorated both the exterior and inside the Home with poppies, bunting and commemorative flags in memory of those who fought and lost their lives in the world wars.
On Sunday 11th November, Armistice Day, the Residents had a full day of reminiscence. During the morning everyone watched the parade on the big screen in the main lounge and afterwards Residents shared their memories with staff about their experiences during that time. In the afternoon, tea and ‘poppy’ decorated cupcakes (baked by staff) were enjoyed by all while watching the film ‘War Horse’.
